Robusta and Arabica

When I did a promotion of Island Coffee Indonesia at Sanur Beach, Bali, many people asked for Arabica and  Robusta.

Arabica is also known as the Arabian Coffee, mountain coffee, grow at 1000 – 2000 m  with the highest 2800 m ASL. As the first species of coffee to be cultivated. First found in Yemen, documented by 12th century. Arabica has high acidity and lower in caffeine.

Robusta is origin from central & western sub-Saharan, grow at <700 m AS. Robusta has a low acidity and higher in caffeine.

However,the acidity and caffeine are very individual.

Another common comment we find is coffee causes gastro/stomach upset. This has been known due to the quality of beans used.

Island Coffee Indonesia has been developed to be comfortable to your stomach and enjoyable by many people. Our coffee goes through a careful quality control from green bean to your cup to ensure the coffee is enjoyable by everybody.

A wild coffee tree can grow 9 – 12 m with open branching.
