The Sumatra island region is rugged and incredibly fertile.

 

Sumatran coffees are typically characterized by its richness, complex variety of flavours and low acidity, depending on the region. Hints of cocoa, bell pepper, smoke, and earthy notes are evident in this famous coffee.

Kerinci is located in Jambi Province, on the east-coast of Central Sumatera. Kerinci Coffee beans grow in rich volcanic soil at a high altitude 1500 metres above sea level,  surrounded by cinnamon crops and and tea plantations.  Kerinci is the highest volcano on Sumatra island. It is also the home of the famous Sumatran Tiger.

Kerinci coffee is smooth and full bodied,  balanced and intense.

Bukittinggi is located on the west side of Sumatera, north of the provincial capital of Padang. Most significant in the landscape is the Jam Gadang, a tower clock built during Dutch colonial time, standing in the middle of the city. Bukittinggi coffee is smooth, and  strong
